Learn how to play Djeco Minimatch playing card game

Minimatch is a fun card game from Djeco based on the traditional game of Snap. The game contains large 'meli-melo' cards featuring an assortment of colourful characters. This French word means quite literally a mixture or medley of items.

Aim of the game

To be the first player to get rid of all your cards!

Game rules

• The youngest player goes first.
• The game is played in a clockwise direction.

Game instructions

Deal out 5 cards to each player and place the rest in a pile. The pack of meli-melo cards is placed face down in the centre of the circle of players. The first player picks up the top meli-melo card and places it face up in the centre. Each player must concentrate on his hand and the meli-melo card to see if he has a matching item. The quickest player to spot a match between one of his cards and one of the items on the melo-melo card wins and gets rid of his card. If a player shouts out but doesn't have a match, he takes his card back and must pick 2 extra cards as a penalty. It is then the turn of the next player to turn over a meli-melo card, and so on. At the end of the deck of meli-melo cards, turn them over and start again.

Minimatch is a game of observation and skill. You must concentrate and make sure you have a matching item or you will collect more cards than you get to give away!
